Caesars hosted a community event this week, where executives unveiled renderings and plans for the property.

Various partners were in attendance, including Columbus Mayor Jim Bulkley, Tom Jackson, Dan Clarey, Dennis Hall, Russell Placzek and Chad Sucha with Columbus Exposition and the Columbus Chamber of Commerce and Caesars’ selected general contractor, Whiting-Turner.

According to the plans, Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino is expected to include a 28,000-sq ft casino with over 500 slot machines and 14 table games and a sportsbook.

The property will also feature the restaurant, The Brew Brothers, and a bar called Wishbones, a nod to the beloved town event centre that closed in 2021.

A Marriot Fairfield Inn and Townplace Suites will also be built next to the property and connect directly to the casino.

Todd Connelly, Regional President at Caesars Entertainment, said: “We’re pleased to bring a brand-new destination to the great state of Nebraska. This is a huge milestone for the company, and we’ve been working hard to bring it to life.

“We were honoured to be joined by our partners and have the support of the local community during today’s event. We’re looking forward to welcoming the people of Columbus and beyond when we open our doors in 2024.”

The company’s temporary casino, Ag Park, is expected to open in late spring 2023. It will have over 200 slot machines as well as an expansive simulcast.

This temporary location will allow guests to earn Caesars Rewards credits in preparation for the Harrah’s Columbus, NE Racing & Casino to open next year.
