Mohegan Sun hosts Charlie Villanueva at FanDuel Sportsbook
Charlie Villanueva will be at the Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook on 1 April.
The special meet-and-greet event will be held at the Mohegan Sun FanDuel Sportsbook this Saturday for the NCAA March Madness Final Four games.
This weekend is the first time UConn has made it to the Final Four in nine years, after the team won the 2014 NCAA Tournament against Kentucky.
When he played for UConn in 2004, Villanueva received the Big East All-Rookie Team honours and was voted MPV of the team.
He then went on to play 11 seasons of professional basketball.
Villanueva will attend the meet and greet event from 5:15pm – 6:15pm, thanks to the partnership between Mohegan and FanDuel.
The full schedule also includes ESPN’s Gordon Damer, who will broadcast live from the venue from 3pm-6pm.
Dan Hurley, the UConn coach, said: “To get to the Final Four games, you’ve got a lot of eyeballs on you.
“The Final Four’s great, we talked about that as a goal, but ultimately our goal is to win a National Championship.
“Obviously doing that in a place like UConn, it’s is a serious legacy.”
The FAU vs San Diego State tip-off will begin at 6:09pm in the sportsbook, and the UConn vs Miami game tip-off later at 8:49pm.
The winners from each bracket will then face each other in the NCAA Tournament Championship Finals game on 3 April.
If UConn wins, it will mark its fifth National Championship title. March Madness is, naturally, a huge time of the year for sportsbooks.
