ReelPlay, an Australian-based casino software company, has announced that its title Hypernova Megaways will be the first game to go live from the studio on the BCLC platform.
Additional titles will be expected to join after the initial launch, similar to its staggered entry into the European market in 2018.
Light & Wonder, formerly Scientific Games Corporation, attained the licence for the application of the Infinity Reel trademark system back in December 2020.
Steve Mayes, Digital Partnerships Director at Light & Wonder, said: “Having worked closely with ReelPlay for many years, we fully expect their extended distribution into BCLC to be a success for all parties and look forward to future ReelPlay releases across our network.”
The Light & Wonder OpenGaming ecosystem was launched in 2019 as a games aggregate and player account management platform.
Since then, the aggregator has accumulated 3,500+ games and is regulated in over 34 US jurisdictions.
It also provides a range of responsible gambling tools that players can implement themselves.
David Johnson, CEO at ReelPlay, said: “Hypernova Megaways is one of the top performing slot games across the regulated North American markets.
“Proudly first to market with innovative and inspirational concepts, ReelPlay is very excited to see the game arrive in another regulated market via our partners at Light & Wonder and expect the tri-party relationship to really flourish after this debut release.”
Last Week, Light & Wonder announced Niaz Nejad as its new Managing Director of Gaming, where she would support the company in their expansion into the US markets.
