MeridianBet Gaming Group has joined the list of companies that are a part of the United Nations group.

The United Nations Global Compact initiative is comprised of thousands of companies, which are dedicated to ensuring responsible business actions and pushing others to adhere to 10 universally accepted principles of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of UN goals and issues embodied in the Sustainable Development Goals.

Zoran Milosevic, Meridian Gaming CEO, said after joining the group: "We are thrilled to join the UN Global Compact, as it reinforces Meridian Gaming Group's dedication to responsible business practices and sustainable growth.

“This commitment is an essential step in our ongoing journey towards positively impacting our industry and creating added value to the communities and the environment."

The move comes shortly after MeridianBet's acquisition by Golden Matrix for $300m – which was a hybrid cash and stock transaction that is expected to complete in H1 2023.

Golden Matrix CEO, Brian Goodman, said of the acquisition:  "We are thrilled to announce our entry into a purchase agreement with the shareholders of MeridianBet Group. We believe that this acquisition will provide us entry into a well-established and highly scalable B2C vertical in new markets outside of our core markets.

“MeridianBet Group appealed to us with its proven business model that emphasises organic growth, resilience to external economic factors, and exceptional products and technology.”
