The Lithuanian Gambling Supervisory Authority has issued a second fine to Top Sport after the operator was found to have breached regulations on mobile betting.

Top Sport was fined €25,000 on 6 May 2023 by the Lithuanian Gambling Supervisory Authority for allowing underage people into the slot machine area and not displaying warning signs of addiction on its machines.

The company was then inspected and further fined €15,000 on 6 June 2023 for violating the provisions of Article 16, Parts 4 and 5 of the Lithuanian Law on Gambling.

During the inspection, it was found that after placing bets on live roulette table games and locking the phone, the app automatically repeated the bet. It was found that this happened when gambling on the Top Sports app on an Android phone.

Paragraph 4 of Article 16 of the ALA stipulates that every gaming device must comply with the requirements established and approved by this law and the Supervisory Service.

Part 5 of Article 16 of the Law on Gambling establishes that: "A gaming device and a remote gaming device must have a certificate issued by accredited institutions, confirming that the gaming devices meet the requirements set by this law."

The company has been warned about the possible suspension of its licence to offer betting.

Decisions made by the Supervisory Service are not final and may be appealed in accordance with the procedure established by Lithuania's Law on Administrative Cases.
