Seminole and Hard Rock receive Freedom Award from PACT

A Freedom Award was presented by PACT (Protect All Children from Trafficking) to the Seminole Tribe of Florida and Hard Rock International at the recent Freedom Awards Benefit held at the Prince George Ballroom in New York City.

Councilwoman Mariann Billie and Seminole Tribe Chairman Marcellus Osceola Jr. presented the award to Durante Blais-Billie, a member of the Seminole Tribe of Florida.

The organisation formerly known as ECPAT-USA now goes by PACT.

Durante Blais-Billie, a member of the Seminole Tribe of Florida, received the honour on behalf of Councilwoman Mariann Billie and Seminole Tribe Chairman Marcellus Osceola Jr.

Faith Robles, a Mexican native who was a victim of human trafficking, presented the award.

Lori L. Cohen, PACT CEO, said: “The Freedom Awards ceremony is a celebration of the progress we’ve made to eliminate child trafficking and exploitation, but also a reminder of the work that still needs to be done.

“Every day, children in the United States and around the world are robbed of their innocence and forced into unimaginable situations.  We’re honoured to be able to count on so many valuable partners to shed light on this issue and raise funds to support our work.”

Hard Rock International and the Seminole Tribe are dedicated to preventing and preventing human trafficking. PACT’s anti-human trafficking information is included in the team member training programmes at Seminole Gaming and Hard Rock venues.

Hard Rock signed the group’s tourism child protection code of conduct in 2022.

Hard Rock increased its efforts to boost the industry’s responsibility in preventing and combating human trafficking in January. Through partnership programmes, it increased its direct assistance to victims, survivors, and at-risk youngsters.

Jim Allen, Chairman of Hard Rock International, said: “Hard Rock is committed to working with our community partners across the country and the world to innovate solutions that help prevent human trafficking.”
