Betfair confirmed as a Barcelona summer signing
Betfair has been announced as the official betting partner of FC Barcelona in a deal that will last for the next three seasons.
The operator will be granted branding all domestic matches played at the Nou Camp, the home of the La Liga champions, and will have access to first-team players.
New Betfair customers are entitled to place a bet of 8/1 odds on Barcelona to be Spanish league champions for a 25th time and win La Liga for a third consecutive season in 2016/17.
The agreement came into force on 1 July and both Betfair and Barcelona will collaborate with image association rights and various “digital benefits”.
This is another significant deal for Betfair, which has previously had similar partnerships in place with Manchester United and Liverpool and was a betting partner of five other Premier League clubs last season, including eventual champions Leicester City.
La Liga clubs partnering with betting companies has been a common occurrence in recent years, as Bwin was the shirt sponsor for Real Madrid CF between 2007 and 2013 and has continued to be the club’s official online gaming and betting partner.
Meanwhile, Titanbet was confirmed as the official betting partner of Sevilla FC in February.
