Nevada’s casinos posts $15.5bn in gaming revenue for 2023

The Nevada Gaming Control Board has released its gaming results for December, as well as for the whole of 2023.

December 2023

A new all-time record revenue amount was set in Nevada for December as the Silver State recorded a total revenue amount of $1.43bn. This number also represented an increase of 9.04% when compared with December 2022.

Slot machines took the highest revenue amount, accounting for around $858m of the revenue amount in the state for Nevada, though table, counter and card games win amount had the higher increase, of 12.45%.

FY2023

Nevada’s full-year numbers also set new records for the state, finishing with a record revenue number for the third consecutive year, finishing the year with a new statewide revenue record of $15.5bn.

This also highlighted a 4.58% increase in gaming revenue when compared with 2022’s numbers.

While slot machines brought in the majority of that gaming revenue, $10.3bn, it was table, counter and card games which yet again saw the higher growth between the two, growing its revenue by 8.35% compared with 2022.

Individual areas

Looking closer at the numbers, Clark County’s game revenue increased 9.75% to $1.27bn, but Washoe County saw a decrease of 2.87% to $80.4m.

The highest growth was seen in Elko County which went up 14.96% to $36.4m for its 2023 gaming revenue.

In other financial news, Macau released its gaming revenue report for January, showing a 67% increase in its revenue when compared with the previous year’s numbers.
