MGM China has organised a responsible gaming training course, in cooperation with the Macau Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM) and the Macau Gaming Industry Employees Home Integrated Services Centre.

The course, titled “Contributing a Harmonious Community – Responsible Gaming Promotion Ambassador,” is a certificate training course for “people outside the gaming industry,” aiming to “prevent gambling disorder in the society and enhancing people’s knowledge of Responsible Gambling (RG).”

The instructors for the course are Davis Fong, Director of the Institute for the Study of Commercial Gaming of the University of Macau, and Pak Kin Pong, Director of the Macao Gaming Industry Employees Home Integrated Services Centre.

The course focused on “the importance of implementing responsible gaming policies, local measures to prevent and control gambling disorder, and how to encourage people in trouble with gaming to ask for help.”

Of the 150 attendees, most are key members and volunteers from the eight major unions under the FAOM, such as the Macao Construction Industry General Union, the Macao Manufacturing Industry General Union, the Commercial Employees’ General Association of Macau, the Service Sector Employees' General Association of Macau, the Macao Federation of Transportation, the Macau Civil Servants Federation, the General Association of Macau Clerical Employees and the Macau Gaming Enterprises Staff’s Association.

Earlier in May, MGM China hosted an event in Macau's Barra District to promote responsible gaming, partnering with the Macao Federation of Trade Unions (FAOM).
