Total gaming revenue reported by the State of New Jersey for the month of June 2024 sat at $491m – marking a 7.4% increase year-on-year and bringing the state’s yearly total so far to $3.06bn.
A new announcement from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement confirms a positive yearly increase in total gaming revenue, which is broken into three separate sections.
The first is total casino winnings, of which New Jersey’s nine casino hotel locations fostered a figure of $244.1m in June this year, a 1% rise from last year’s monthly figure of $241.6m. This relatively small jump is a positive one nonetheless for the state, as this newly reported financial statistic brings New Jersey’s total casino winnings figure for the year up to $1.36bn.
Sports wagering gross revenue in New Jersey decreased by 9.5% from $66.4m in June 2023 to $60.1m in June 2024. Although the cause of this dip has not been specified by the state, the yearly gross revenue figure generated by sports wagering for 2024 so far remains 30% higher than that of the same period of last year – currently totalling $573.1m.
Finally, internet gaming winnings settled at $186.8m in June this year – a 25.2% jump in comparison to the $149.3m reported in June of last year. The current yearly total for this sector is also up year-over-year by 21.4% at a total of $1.13bn.
New Jersey’s gaming revenue also saw a yearly increase of 8.3% in May 2024, as the Garden State becomes an increasingly active participant in the nationwide US gaming market.
