High 5 Games ceases operations in several US states amid court case
The company is facing mounting legal pressure as it tries to maintain operations in North America.
Key points:
– High 5 Games has pulled sweepstake services in six US states
– The platform is no longer accepting new profiles in Canada
– All player accounts in the affected jurisdictions will be closed within a month
High 5 Games will no longer offer its sweepstakes platform to several US states as it prepares to pull them offline.
The operator amended its terms and conditions page to explain that as of 18 February 2025, new player accounts will no longer be possible in the states of Connecticut, Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island and West Virginia.
Existing players in these states will have until 14 March to redeem any sweeps coins before all player accounts will be permanently closed.
Canadian residents will be able to access their accounts until 28 February, before all player accounts will be permanently closed there, too.
New player registrations in Canada were frozen on 3 February this year.
Once the sweepstakes platforms are closed in these jurisdictions, High 5 Casino Classic Play will still be available to residents.
Good to know: The full list of states where High 5 Games is no longer allowed to operate as a sweepstakes casino now includes Connecticut, Delaware, Idaho, Kentucky, Louisiana, Michigan, Montana, Nevada, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Washington And West Virginia
While this isn’t explicitly linked to the lawsuit filed in Washington, this has developed only a few days since a state jury ruled against High 5 Games, ordering the company to pay $24.9m in damages to players in the state.
In response to the lawsuit in the state of Washington, High 5 Games explained that all in-game purchases within this state will be voided and refunded, but a 10% administration fee will be applied to them.
