Following the publication of its FY24 results, Playtech CEO Mor Weizer has told Gambling Insider Brazil is already the supplier's biggest market globally within the live casino vertical.
Brazil regulated online gaming at the start of this year and, as such, has become the most talked-about region within the global gaming sector.
Playtech, which supplies online casino, sports betting and more, delivers a live casino offering worldwide, particularly of note with MGM Resorts in the US.
However, according to Weizer, Brazil is already its biggest market within this lucrative vertical.
We asked Weizer whether Latin America is where Playtech will continue seeing the majority of its growth in 2025. And he told Gambling Insider: "You should expect significant growth in Mexico, continued positive movement in Colombia and we believe in the middle to longer-term prospects of the business there.
"Alongside the US, there is a very significant opportunity in Brazil – which is already the largest contributor to our live casino vertical globally. We expect our partners to continue going from strength to strength in one of the most exciting countries for the industry alongside the US."
At the start of our discussion, Gambling Insider asked wether Playtech is back on a global, tier-one scale. To this, Weizer gave a succinct response: "Definitely, we are back. With a lot of passion!"
