Key points:
- Live dealer machine orders rise from 300 to 1,400 units in two years
- Macau’s live machine revenue up 26% year-on-year in Q1 2025
- Group expands AI R&D in mainland China and targets Southeast Asian markets
Macau-based Paradise Entertainment Limited expects continued growth in its live dealer gaming machine business, supported by a rise in casino automation and returning visitor traffic, according to CFO Chan Kin Man.
As reported by Ming Pao, Chan noted that the group’s live dealer machine orders in Macau have increased from 300 units two years ago to over 1,400 last year, with further orders continuing to rise.
He explained that while Macau’s gaming market traditionally relied on table play, rising operating costs are pushing operators to adopt lower-denomination alternatives such as live dealer machines. Chan noted that Macau’s first-quarter gross gaming revenue rose by just 1% year-on-year, but revenue from live machines surged by 26% to 27%, reflecting this shift in trend.
At Paradise Kam Pek, a satellite venue managed by the group for SJM Holdings, 10 out of 30 tables are linked to 1,000 machines and generate two-thirds of the venue’s revenue.
Good to know: Each live dealer machine now sells for approximately US$28,000, up from US$25,000 in previous years. According to Chan, just 2% of Macau's tables are connected to live dealer machines, yet these contribute 3% of the city's gaming revenue
Paradise has relocated its R&D operations to mainland China, cutting annual development costs by two-thirds to HK$32m (US$4.1m), while assembly in Macau has reduced delivery times from six months to two. The group is now leveraging artificial intelligence to enhance product features and expand into the Philippines, Laos, Vietnam and Sri Lanka.
Chan also revealed plans to double the group’s annual slot game output to 60 titles, supported by its new office in Manila. With minimal capital expenditure needs, Paradise has resumed dividend payments at 40% to 50% of profits and may consider a special dividend depending on performance.
