Crown Perth confirms leadership changes as part of continued transformation

Key points:

– Ben Wyatt named Chair-Elect of Crown Perth Board, while Brian Pereira is appointed Crown Perth CEO

– Appointments mark a new leadership chapter amid ongoing transformation at Crown

– Crown Melbourne to host its first Pride Luncheon on 20 June, building on Perth’s six-year PrideFest tradition

Crown Perth has announced two senior leadership changes as the company continues its broad-based operational and governance transformation. Subject to regulatory approval, Ben Wyatt has been appointed Chair-Elect of the Crown Perth Board (Burswood Limited), while Brian Pereira has been named as the property’s next CEO.

Wyatt, a former Treasurer of Western Australia and an experienced public sector leader, will assume board leadership duties following a transition period with current Chair John Van Der Wielen, who has led the board since 2022. Van Der Wielen will remain on the board temporarily to support the handover.

Brian Pereira, Crown Perth’s current CFO and former CFO of Perth Airport, will succeed as CEO. His appointment brings over 30 years of experience across the banking, aviation, tourism and entertainment sectors in both Australia and the UK.

John Borghetti, Chair of Crown Resorts, described the pair as “highly regarded” and praised Van Der Wielen’s contributions over the past three years.

Crown Resorts CEO David Tsai said: “These appointments are aligned with our vision to lead Crown Perth into its next phase of growth.”

Good to know: The leadership update follows similar developments at Crown Melbourne, where Ed Domingo was recently appointed CEO, replacing Mike Volkert

Domingo brings more than two decades of hospitality and gaming experience, having served in senior roles at MGM Resorts, Caesars Entertainment and Rush Street Gaming.

Separately, Crown Melbourne has launched its first-ever Pride Luncheon, scheduled for 20 June. The event builds on the success of the annual Crown Perth PrideFest and aims to foster LGBTQ+ inclusion in corporate settings.

Hosted at Crown Melbourne, the luncheon will feature keynote speakers Rhys Nicholson and Michelle Sheppard and will donate part of the ticket proceeds to The Pinnacle Foundation.

Crown Melbourne CEO Ed Domingo said: “This is about creating inclusive environments for our team members, guests and the broader Victorian community.”
