Company cites strategic realignment, staff to be reassigned internally.

Melco to close Grand Dragon Casino and three Mocha venues by year-end

Key points:

– Grand Dragon Casino and three Mocha Clubs to cease operations before the end of 2025

– Affected employees to be redeployed within Melco’s Macau operations

– Applications underway to keep three other Mocha venues open beyond 2025

Melco Resorts & Entertainment, a subsidiary of Hong Kong-listed Melco International Development, will wind down operations at four of its Macau gaming venues by the end of this year, the company confirmed in a press release.

As part of a broader strategic adjustment, Grand Dragon Casino, along with Mocha Hotel Royal, Mocha Kuong Fat and Mocha Grand Dragon Hotel, will be shuttered in the months ahead. The decision is in line with Melco’s ongoing development objectives and remains compliant with all Macau legal frameworks.

According to the announcement, no job losses are anticipated. Employees currently based at the affected venues will be redeployed to other Melco properties in Macau, with their existing job roles preserved. Gaming tables and electronic machines from the closing sites will also be reallocated across Melco’s other Macau locations to maintain operational continuity.

Good to know: Melco has confirmed that staff reassignment will not involve changes to job duties or salary

In a parallel move, the company has initiated the process to seek Government approval for Mocha Inner Harbour, Mocha Hotel Sintra and Mocha Golden Dragon to remain in operation beyond December 2025. These applications are subject to regulatory compliance and licensing conditions set by the Macau SAR authorities.
