Key points:
- A new charitable online casino platform, powered by Top Deck Entertainment, is set to be launched in Kenya
- The platform has been designed with an enhanced focus on community protection and interaction
A newly licensed charitable online casino platform, led by Chair of the Top Deck Entertainment Board Gloria Herndon, is in its final preparations for launch in the Kenyan market.
Indeed, this venture has already secured the necessary licensure to proceed with its launch and has been developed in collaboration with Humanitarian Gaming International (HGI) and Electronic Gaming Solutions (EGS). Set to be operated by Top Deck Entertainment, the platform will offer an online casino experience developed with numerous responsible gambling protection options.
This platform has further been put together amidst a new continental gambling model in Africa which seeks to draw an enhanced focus on community protection and interaction. As such, a quantity of the profits from the platform will be dedicated to local charitable institutions, with funding set to be raised for healthcare, education and youth development.
Speaking on this development, Herndon stated: "This isn't just a business venture—it's a reinvestment mechanism. We're building something that generates revenue and returns it to the communities that need it most.”
Good to know: The content featured within the platform will be provided by HGI/EGS - who will also supply operational and governance support
This latest development follows a flurry of recent Q2 news from the Kenyan market – which began with the nation’s regulator – the Kenyan Betting Control and Licensing Board (BCLB) – enforcing a 30-day ban on gambling advertising in late April.
Following on from this, the Communications Authority of Kenya fined nine TV stations for broadcasting unlicensed gambling content towards the end of May. Most recently, the BCLB also outlawed celebrities, influencers and content creators from endorsing gambling advertisements.
