Ben Reilly appointed Flutter UKI CCO

Key points:

– Flutter UKI has appointed Ben Reilly as CCO as Flutter consolidates its commercial efforts

– Sky Bet CCO Steve Birch and Paddy Power CCO David Newton will leave the business

– The appointment comes as Flutter shifts its interest toward its US brand FanDuel and a time of UK financial challenge

Flutter UKI has appointed Ben Reilly as its Chief Commercial Officer. The move comes as Flutter UKI consolidates its UK brands, with Sky Bet CCO Steve Birch and Paddy Power CCO David Newton set to leave the business later this year.

Reilly will report directly to Flutter UKI Chief Executive Kevin Harrington, who was appointed in November.

Reilly comes to the role with over 15 years of experience with the company, having initially joined as part of Paddy Power in 2010 as a graduate. Throughout his time with the business, he has developed his role, having worked as Head of Paddy Power’s Sportsbook, Managing Director of Tombola and Flutter UKI Chief Product Officer.

On his appointment, Harrington said: “Like other operators in this market we face the challenge of rising costs, regulatory pressure and increasing competition but I truly believe we are uniquely placed to take this challenge head-on. I’m very pleased that Ben will be taking on this role and convinced that under him our brands will thrive long into the future.”

Indeed, Flutter has been refocusing its efforts on its US sportsbook, FanDuel, which accounted for $1.7bn of its $3.7bn Q1 2025 revenue. This consolidation has been seen elsewhere, with the operator also changing its financial reporting method for Q1 by separating revenue between FanDuel and all other operations, rather than reporting UKI, Australia and other segments separately.

Good to know: As part of its global expansion efforts, Flutter acquired a 56% stake in NSX Group in May, merging the business with its existing operations in Brazil

With this consolidation effort, it was also announced that Sky Bet CCO Steve Birch and Paddy Power CCO David Newton would exit the company by the end of the year. On the two, Harrington added: “I want to thank Steve and David for the tremendous contribution they have made to Flutter over their time in the business.”

This aligns with other reductions in staff across the UKI segment of the business. According to a report earlier this month, Flutter UKI is set to make around 220 staff redundant across the UK and Ireland, particularly in Dublin and Leeds.

Alongside Reilly, Flutter UKI has developed a new Chief Operating Officer role and appointed Dom Crosthwaite. He currently acts as Head of Sportsbook Product and Trading for Flutter.
