During a turnover ceremony held on 4 July at Camp General Emilio Aguinaldo, each of the 138 responders was awarded Php50,000 in recognition of their role in the 12-day mission, which included medical and search-and-rescue operations.
The contingent, composed of teams from the Office of Civil Defence, Department of Health, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and Department of Environment and Natural Resources, was deployed on 1 April.
Good to know: They established a Type 1 Fixed Field Hospital in Pyinmana, Naypyidaw, treating over 1,000 patients and assisting local authorities in rescue operations
PAGCOR has previously contributed Php4.1m to support Filipino responders sent to Türkiye following the 2023 earthquakes. The agency also donated Php20m worth of medical transport vehicles to underserved Philippine regions in June 2025.
Lt Col Erwen Diploma, said: “This support from PAGCOR is a strong message that the efforts of Filipino humanitarian responders are valued and recognised.”
PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco added: “We honour not just your bravery, but the compassion that defines Filipino humanitarian missions.”
A plaque of appreciation was presented by the Department of National Defence to PAGCOR in recognition of its continued assistance. SVP Raul Villanueva received the award on behalf of the agency.
PAGCOR’s involvement in the Myanmar response forms part of its broader corporate social responsibility programme, which prioritises healthcare access, education and emergency support in both domestic and international contexts.
