India: SCCG Management partners with BeatFantasy

Key points:

– The advisory company has entered a strategic partnership with BeatFantasy

– BeatFantasy claims to be able to reduce customer acqusition costs for operators by 40%

– The sports data company offers users AI and analytics-powered fantasy sports insights and tools

SCCG Management has made further steps into the Indian market through a strategic partnership with BeatFantasy.

Indian-based BeatFantasy is a sports data company using AI and analytics to analyse player performance, weather conditions and other variables to help players make decisions about their fantasy sport teams.

Currently the platform supports cricket, football and kabbadi.

The partnership will in theory create an avenue for SCCG clients to target customer acquisition in India, a market that in 2021 was counted at 130 million players.

BeatFantasy uses lineup builders and real-time data to engage users, and it claims to be able to offer partners up to a 40% decrease in acquisition costs thanks to its proprietary precision retargeting engine.

Stephen Crystal, Founder and CEO of SCCG Management sees lots of opportunities for his firm’s clients to scale in a manner that’s compliant and fine-tuned for the Indian market.

Crystal said: “We see India as one of the most significant long-term opportunities in the global wagering landscape. (…) Together, we’re opening the door for operators to engage India’s next generation of RMG (real money gaming) players in a way that’s responsible, effective, and profitable.”

The partnership pulls together SCCG’s relationships with operators, suppliers and investors and BeatFantasy’s understanding of the Indian market.

Good to know: The extant Public Gambling Act of 1867 is still the governing legal framework in the country, though states are able to set their own laws in place

Fantasy sports were deemed a game of skill by the Indian Supreme Court in 2021, differentiating it from gambling, which is largely prohibited in India bar a few exceptions.

BeatFantasy has crafted its niche in this unique regulatory environment and SCCG’s clients will now be well placed to capitalise from that regional expertise.

Anirudh Agarwal, CEO of BetFantasy, expressed his excitement at being able to start: “Helping operators succeed in India’s fast-growing and dynamic ecosystem.”
