Monaco: €244m Q1 revenue posted by SBM

Casino de Monte-Carlo and Casino Café de Paris owner and operator, Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) Group, has posted Q1 2025/26 revenue of €244m for the period ending 30 June.  

The Monaco-based casino operator has reported financial growth across all business sectors, as per this latest report. Indeed, hotel revenue reached its all-time record high for the group during Q1 2025/26, settling at €148.9m for the quarter, up by €18.6m year-on-year. 

Q2 revenue by sector 

Broken down, the hospitality business sector was SBM’s primary revenue driver across the quarter, generating €148.9m, up 14% in comparison to results from the prior year. Following behind hospitality was gaming sector revenue, which also grew by 8% year-on-year to settle at a figure of €50.6m.  

Elsewhere, the operator’s rental business sector also saw an upswing of 6% in revenue compared to results from Q1 2024/25, generating €39.2m, with other non-disclosed business departments accounting for the remaining €9.2m of the overall revenue figure. Internal disposals, however, generated a loss of €3.9m – 4% higher the that €3.7m recorded the year prior.  

2025 highlights  

Following initial interest in the area by the group in 2023, SMB made the official acquisition of the Courchevel 1850-based Palace des Neiges in early 2024. More recently, in January, the operator revealed the name of its planned hotel and casino development in the area – Monte Carlo One – Courchevel.  

Good to know: Last quarter saw the operator post its full-year 2024/25 results, highlighting a record annual turnover of €768m  

Elsehwere, in 2024 SBM partnered with American cruise line Crystal Cruises to host the first and online Casino de Monte-Carlo at sea.

Speaking on these most recent financials, SBM Chairman and Deputy, Stéphanie Valeri, said: “Revenue for the first quarter of the 2025-2026 financial year increased in all business segments and confirms the growth momentum of the S.B.M. Group, as well as the relevance of our strategy. The activity of our hotels and restaurants was particularly dynamic throughout the quarter, particularly during the Monaco Formula 1 Grand Prix. “
