Incentive Games secures Ontario gaming licence

This latest approval adds to the company's presence in the North American iGaming landscape.

Incentive Games secures Ontario gaming licence

Key points:

– Incentive Games has been granted an B2B gaming licence by the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO)

– The approval follows the company’s recent provisional licence from the Michigan Gaming Control Board

Incentive Games has received a gaming licence from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), effective immediately.

The licence allows the company to offer its portfolio of real-money gaming products to licensed operators and players across Ontario. The province represents Canada’s most active regulated iGaming market.

The AGCO licensing process includes strict requirements related to security, responsible gambling and operational conduct. Meeting these standards confirms Incentive Games’ eligibility to operate within the regulated market.

As such, the company will distribute its gaming content in Ontario through Incentive Studios, its dedicated real-money gaming division. This structure is intended to deliver market-specific services to licensed operators in the region.

Good to know: Ontario launched its regulated iGaming market in April 2022, making it one of the first provinces in Canada to allow private operators

John Gordon, Incentive Games CEO, stated: “Ontario represents a huge opportunity for us and securing this license is a proud moment for the whole team.

“It reinforces our dedication to meeting the highest standards while delivering compelling real-money content. We’re looking forward to building strong relationships in the region and continuing our momentum across regulated markets worldwide.”

Obtaining this Ontario licence follows the company’s recent announcement that it has also gained a provisional licensure from the Michigan Gaming Control Board in the US. Together, the developments reflect a broader strategy focused on regulated North American jurisdictions at a time when various companies are expanding.

It also follows the launch of the Tournament Predictor game by Incentive Games and bet365, a free-to-play title released ahead of the Club World Cup.
