Hard Rock International to move corporate headquarters

Rock International will be moving their corporate headquarters out of Orlando in order to merge with their ownership group, the Seminole Tribe of South Florida.

The Seminole Tribe purchased Hard Rock International in 2007, who have had their headquarters in Orlando ever since. However, the recent resignation of Hamish Dodds, the companies CEO for 13 years, has led the tribe to push for a merge of their operations without corporate backlash.

The move signifies the transformation of Hard Rock from themed restaurants in 1971 into a gambling and resort focused company that are currently redeveloping the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City for $300m . The ownership under the Seminole Tribe has secured the companies identity in the gambling industry as a major player.

Hard Rock International confirmed the move in a statement claiming: “Hard Rock International will move staff headquarters from Orlando to South Florida, joining forces with ownership, The Seminole Tribe of Florida, and The Seminole Gaming Organisation. The opportunity to combine the world-class talent of all three companies will create an even more powerful organisation. At this time, details of the move and timing are still to be determined.”

The change is set to take place at the end of summer in 2018 causing some confusion over the future of their 200 staff currently employed in Orlando. Although the move is only down state, the sheer size of Florida would require any employee to relocate in order to continue working in the new offices.
