The live streams will be available via operators’ digital betting platforms in US states where sports wagering is legal.

IMG Arena has provided live streaming of NHL games for sports betting operators in legalised European markets for several years.

Freddie Longe, EVP and MD of IMG Arena, said: “This marks a major development in the US betting rights landscape and we look forward to driving further engagement for NHL fans.”

Steve McArdle, NHL EVP of Digital Media and Strategic Planning, said: “We are excited about the expansion of our international relationship with IMG Arena into the US.

“The NHL has taken a progressive approach to sports betting and this live-game streaming opportunity with IMG Arena provides another innovative touchpoint for fan engagement.”

In December, IMG Arena acquired content rights for the Scottish Professional Football League in a five-year deal, which begins at the start of next season.
