Gambling Group preparing marketing services for Ontario launch
By Gambling Insider

With a number of gambling operators receiving licences in the run-up to the launch of online betting in the Canadian province, Gambling.com Group is able to support these operators in growing their user bases.

Owning over 50 websites in total, the group acts as an affiliate, publishing free-to-use platforms for consumers to compare online gambling services. These websites include gambling.com, bookies.com and rotowire.com.

Through its network of websites, Gambling.com Group can support its partner operators by promoting their services and featuring their odds more prominently, with the aim of boosting player acquisition.

Charles Gillespie, CEO, commented: “The launch of regulated online sports betting and iGaming is a major milestone and achievement for Ontario’s gaming industry. The province is taking the right approach by keeping the barriers to entry low and allowing a variety of operators to enter the market.

“This will foster competition and ultimately benefit consumers as the operators with the best products rise to the top. Gambling.com Group is well positioned to help operators and customers succeed in this new and exciting market.”

During its first year of operation, industry anallysts believe the Ontario iGaming market could generate as much as CA$1bn (US$800m) in revenue.

Operators such as 888 Holdings, Rivalry Corporation and Kindred Group’s Unibet have all received licences. Similarly, suppliers such as Kambi Group and Relax Gaming have received supplier licences.

Caroline Smart, VP, Gambling.com Group, said: “It is thrilling to have a market open date for Ontario, marking the first licensed sports betting and online casino market in Canada.

“After many years of only having one legal option through the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, the robust offerings in the Ontario marketplace will ensure there is a lot of choice and opportunity for customers.”
