OpenBet and Opap collaborate on retail betting experience
By Gambling Insider

Supplier OpenBet has reaffirmed its longstanding partnership with Greek operator Opap to introduce an upgraded retail betting experience.

The collaboration involves leveraging OpenBet's technology platform and products across Opap's retail estate, encompassing over 3,000 stores and an estimated 20,000 terminals in Greece.

This move aligns with Opap's mission to enhance its retail betting proposition, to offer customers a range of betting markets, odds and functionalities.

Jan Karas, Opap CEO, said: "The launch of a new betting platform across a retail estate of more than 3,000 stores was a major undertaking, which was completed successfully thanks to close collaboration between the Opap and OpenBet teams.

"We firmly believe  new retail betting platform will enable us to further enhance customers’ entertainment experience at Opap stores."

Jordan Levin, Group CEO of OpenBet, added: “We’re proud to have facilitated the next generation of Opap’s retail betting offering, particularly so soon after the success of our online launch together. This is a significant milestone for both companies and strengthens our own position as a trusted provider to lotteries worldwide.”

This development follows OpenBet's recent partnership with Veikkaus, a government-owned betting operator in Finland. Under a four-year agreement, OpenBet's technology is set to power Veikkaus' sportsbook platform, aiming to enhance its digital and retail sportsbook capabilities.

Solutions provider Intralot also extended its contract with Opap until 2026, focusing on numerical games. The extension grants Opap access to Intralot's LotosX lottery engine software and related functionalities.
