Boyd Gaming allocates over $200,000 to charities nationwide

Boyd Gaming Corporation has announced a philanthropic initiative, revealing a donation of more than $200,000 to nearly 190 non-profit organisations across 11 states. 

The contributions were part of Boyd Gaming's 2023 'Wreaths of Hope' and 'Trees of Hope' competition, where 186 non-profits participated.

Customers of Boyd Gaming had the opportunity to vote for their preferred charities online and in person during the holiday season, determining the cash prizes awarded to the organisations.

For Boyd Gaming's 2021 Christmas charity drive, the company donated over $180,000 to more than 160 non-profit organisations across the US. This initiative involved participants decorating wreaths and trees at 22 Boyd properties, with customers casting over 100,000 votes nationwide. 

In addition to its charitable endeavours, Boyd Gaming has made strategic executive appointments to fortify its management structure. Steve Thompson, previously EVP for Operations in Nevada, now serves as CAO, while Steve Schutte has expanded responsibilities, overseeing Corporate Slot Operations, Food and Beverage, Hotel Operations and Nevada properties' operations.

Ted Bogich, now COO, leads operations across Boyd Gaming's 28 properties nationwide. Ward Shaw assumes Bogich's prior role, having overseen operations in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.

Boyd Gaming's third-quarter revenue report showed a 29% increase compared to the same period in 2022. The company's is in the midst of ongoing expansion initiatives, including the Fremont property project and collaborations in online gaming with FanDuel.
