Boyd Gaming Corporation has made changes in its senior executive roster, aiming to reinforce its management framework.

Steve Thompson, previously serving as EVP for Operations in Nevada, steps into the role of CAO. His successor, Steve Schutte, previously overseeing operations for the company’s Las Vegas Locals properties, now takes on a wider scope, including Corporate Slot Operations, Food and Beverage and Hotel Operations alongside the oversight of the Nevada properties.

Additionally, Ted Bogich, formerly the EVP for Operations in the Midwest & South region, assumes the mantle of COO, directing the operations across Boyd Gaming’s 28 properties nationwide.

He retains oversight of Corporate Marketing, Slot Analytics and Strategy. Taking Bogich’s prior position is Ward Shaw, previously overseeing company operations in Missouri, Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.

Keith Smith, President and CEO of Boyd Gaming, said: “These appointments strengthen our management structure and help position Boyd for today’s dynamic and fast-changing environment. Each of these four accomplished executives has played a critical role in our company’s success and through their expanded roles we will further leverage their talent and expertise as we continue to drive long-term growth and efficiencies throughout our operations.”

Thompson, with a tenure at Boyd Gaming since 1983, now oversees corporate functions such as Procurement, Administration, Design & Construction, Corporate Social Responsibility, Corporate Communications, and Race and Sports.

Schutte has 30 years of experience in the gaming industry, while Shaw holds 25 years of industry experience in senior positions across multiple jurisdictions.

Bogich, who joined Boyd Gaming in 2004, has progressed through the organisation, culminating in his new leadership role.

Boyd Gaming's executive changes follow its recent financial report, revealing a third-quarter revenue of $903.2m, showing growth compared to the same period last year. The company highlighted expansion initiatives, including the Fremont property's project and collaborations in online gaming, particularly with FanDuel’s operations and the integration of Boyd Interactive.

Moreover, the company collaborated with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) to establish the Boyd Innovation Lab, aimed to drive innovation within Southern Nevada's hospitality sector.
