Virgin Hotels Las Vegas CEO to resign at end of March

Richard Bosworth, CEO of J.C. Hospitality at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, will step down from his position at the end of March.

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas CEO to resign at end of March

Vital Vegas made the official announcement on Twitter on 19 March.

According to a statement issued by J.C. Hospitality on 20 March, Bosworth announced his resignation in February.

J.C. Hospitality said: “Bosworth will advance in his career as he pursues new endeavours in the hotel industry, according to J.C. Hospitality. He’ll continue to invest.”

The former Hard Rock Las Vegas on Paradise Road and Harmon Avenue was purchased by Richard Branson’s Virgin Group for $500m in 2018, and Bosworth organised the ownership business and served as its Managing Partner.

The 1,500-room resort was opened in March 2021 after he oversaw more than $200m in renovations.

Bosworth, known as “Boz,” also hired Mohegan Gaming, the commercial branch of the Mohegan Native Tribe of Connecticut, to run the casino.

Before the US division of the United Kingdom-based Betfred Sportsbook received a licence to manage sports betting operations in January, the casino had been operating without a sportsbook for almost two years.

The ownership group bought the Hard Rock three years later. Virgin Group, Juniper Capital Partners, LiUNA, Fengate Asset Management, Dream and Orlando Development were some of its past owners.

Hard Rock was scheduled to debut later in 2020 but was closed in February due to pandemic-related operating restrictions.

Virgin Hotels Las Vegas opened its doors on 25 March 2021.

In January, the Nevada Gaming Control Board advised the state to choose Betfred USA as the operator of the sportsbook at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
