Gauselmann changes name to Merkur

New year, new company name – the rebranding will see the company operate under Merkur going forward.

Gauselmann changes name to Merkur

The Gauselmann Group has changed its name to Merkur Group.

Paul Gauselmann, Gauselmann Founder and Chairman of the Management Board, said: “The corporate group is becoming increasingly digital and international.

“The change of name reflects this fact. Both developments will benefit from linking the appeal of our Merkur brand to the company name.”

The Gauselmann Group was founded in 1957 and introduced the Merkur brand during the 1970s with Amusement With Prizes (AWP) machines.

The deployment of the Merkur B AWP would develop into the first company arcade, the Merkur Spielothek.

Since then, a full suite of gaming machines has been developed and distributed under the Merkur logo.

In addition, the product range at Merkur includes both classic and virtual slot games, arcades, casinos, gambling houses and sports betting establishments.

Gauselmann continued: “The renaming is also a nod to the success of the Merkur brand.

“Continuity and stability are cornerstones of our corporate philosophy and will continue to be important factors for success going forward.”

All of the company’s branding will be altered to Merkur, including websites, social media channels and physical signage.

There are several brands at the company already operating under the Merkur name, including Merkur Gaming, Merkur Slots and Merkur XTip.

Despite being a German-based group, the company has not restricted itself to only operating in Europe.

Just before Christmas, Merkur Gaming Perú celebrated its 10th anniversary which involved a ceremony at Lima’s exclusive Country Club Hotel.
