Virgin Bet Women’s Day returns for Easter Bank Holiday raceday at Kempton Park Racecourse

Key points:

– Virgin Bet Women’s Day will return to Kempton Park Racecourse for Virgin Bet Easter Bank Holiday raceday for a third time

– The day will include a panel with women in the horseracing industry

Kempton Park Racecourse’s Virgin Bet Easter Bank Holiday raceday is set to host Virgin Bet Women’s Day on 21 April. Marking the third edition of the event, Virgin Bet Women’s Day celebrates women in the horseracing industry, with a panel scheduled on the day to discuss topics including career paths, representation in sports and the development of women’s roles in sports.

The panel, scheduled for 1:30pm GMT, will feature Sky Sports Racing Television Presenter Hayley Moore, Berkshire Equine Veterinary Nurse Laura Perkins, Racing Welfare COO Gemma Waterhouse and WalkSafe Founder Emma Kay.

The raceday marks the final in the season in partnership with The Jockey Club, following Virgin Bet Raceday and Virgin Bet Big Day Out, both held at Kempton Park.

Good to know: Jim Mullen was appointed as CEO of The Jockey Club in late March, taking over from Interim CEO Charlie Boss

As part of its sponsorship, Virgin Bet will make a donation to Racing Welfare. It will also present Waterhouse with a £28,000 ($35,919) cheque to celebrate a year of community and racing industry work.

The event follows shortly after two of racing’s biggest events, the Grand National and Cheltenham. The latter was described as particularly lucrative for bookmakers, following the fall of favourite Constitution Hill on day one.
