Key points:
– Flutter’s UK staff aim to raise over £375,000 ($502,151) for Pancreatic Cancer UK
– Flutter’s Ireland staff are raising funds for the National Maternity Hospital Foundation
Flutter’s UK staff, totalling over 5,000 across brands including Sky Betting & Gaming, Paddy Power and Betfair, are aiming to raise over £375,000 ($502,151) for charity. The company’s 2025 Charity of the Year is Pancreatic Cancer UK, done so in memory of Sky Betting & Gaming employee James Blackburn who passed away following a pancreatic cancer diagnosis in April 2023.
The operator’s UK staff donated £375,000 to Cure Leukaemia last year and aims to raise even more this year.
Staff in Dublin, meanwhile, are raising funds for the National Maternity Hospital Foundation, with the donation to aid fund research, innovation and excellence in women’s and neonatal health. In the last two years, Flutter’s Ireland staff raised €700,000 ($798121) for BUMBLEance, the Children’s Ambulance Service of Ireland and Spinal Injuries Ireland.
On the partnership with Pancreatic Cancer UK, Sky Betting & Gaming, tombola and Trading CCO Steve Birch said: “We were overwhelmed by the number of nominations for Pancreatic Cancer UK, and continue to be inspired by the passion colleagues have shown in their efforts to raise awareness and support this charity. It is clear this year-long partnership will continue to hold a special place in our hearts as we remember those touched by this brutal disease every step of the way.”
Good to know: Flutter’s €2.3bn acquisition of Snai was approved in April, giving the operator wider access to the Italian gaming market
On its partnership with the National Maternity Hospital Foundation, Flutter Chief Executive for UK & Ireland Kevin Harrington added: “Many Flutter employees have a personal connection to The National Maternity Hospital – whether they were born there themselves, have had a baby there, or know someone who has received care at The National Maternity Hospital, so raising funds for its Foundation is a cause close to everyone’s hearts.
“We have almost over 1,500 people working out of our Dublin office and their motivation to engage with the regular fundraising efforts for this Foundation is something I’m really proud to witness personally, and it’s something I hope our colleagues take huge pride in too.”
