Merkur Group granted Nevada licence, marking return to US

Key points:

– Merkur Group has received a licence to manufacture and distribute gaming products in Nevada, re-entering the US market after a two-decade absence

– The Nevada Gaming Commission has also approved Merkur’s acquisition of Las Vegas-based Gaming Arts LLC, expected to complete in early Q3 2025

Merkur Gaming US has been granted a licence by the Nevada Gaming Commission to manufacture and distribute gaming equipment in the state. The decision allows the company to re-enter one of the largest regulated casino markets globally.

Alongside the licence, the Commission has approved Merkur Group’s acquisition of Gaming Arts LLC, a licensed gaming operator headquartered in Las Vegas. The transaction is anticipated to close in the third quarter of 2025, subject to final conditions.

Merkur Group was previously licensed in Nevada in 1998 but withdrew from the US in the early 2000s. The recent approval marks its formal return as a certified manufacturer and distributor.

Michael Gauselmann, Merkur Group Chairman of the Supervisory Board, stated: “With approval from Nevada, this moment serves to highlight and underscore the Merkur Group’s legally compliant and forward-looking approach in all areas without exception.”

Good to know: Merkur Group operates across over 90 countries, while Gaming Arts is licensed in more than 155 jurisdictions

Lars Felderhoff, Merkur Group Chairman of the Management Board, added: “This license represents a key strategic lever for expanding our international business and lay the foundation for a stable and successful long-term future for the entire Group.”

Merkur Group’s recent licence approval marks its re-entry into the Nevada gaming market as a manufacturer and distributor.
