Key points:

– This is the second MOU signed by the GRAI
The Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland (GRAI) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Belgian Gaming Commission as it begins to establish itself in the industry.
This will allow both regulators to share information and collaborate on projects and tasks between them.
The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by Anne Marie Caulfield, GRAI CEO, and Magali Clavie, President of the Belgian Gaming Commission.
On the occasion, Caulfield said: “This Memorandum of Understanding with the Belgian Gaming Commission is a significant step in formalising the working relationship between Irish and Belgian gambling regulators.
“I would like to thank Magali Clavie, Steve Mees and their colleagues for the support and advice they have given the Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland in its formative phase.”
Good to know: This is the second Memorandum of Understanding the GRAI has signed since being established this year; the first MOU was signed with the UK’s Gambling Commission
The GRAI intends to sign many more deals with European gambling regulators in the coming months as part of an initiative to strengthen its position in the market.
So far this year, the GRAI has published its first study, helped sign the Gambling Regulation Act into law, partnered with Advertising Standards and even opened its new offices.
The GRAI also noted that the Belgian Gaming Commission had offered a lot of time and support while the Irish regulator was still setting itself up, which was “greatly received.”
