The dismissal follows months of legal proceedings and marks the latest development in Lottery.com’s broader restructuring and brand relaunch strategy.

Key points:

– The suit against Lottery.com was voluntarily dismissed by plaintiff Dawn Nettles on 30 May

– The case had alleged misconduct tied to Lottery.com’s operations in Texas

– The company maintains it cooperated fully with investigations and denies any wrongdoing

Lottery.com has confirmed that the civil lawsuit filed against it in Texas by plaintiff Dawn Nettles has been voluntarily dismissed.

According to a notice filed on 30 May 2025, Nettles withdrew her claims “without prejudice,” effectively ending the case in Business Court Division 11a.

Initially filed in the 333rd District Court in Harris County before being transferred, the case alleged various forms of misconduct by Lottery.com in relation to its operations in Texas.

The company stated that these accusations were unfounded and that it had consistently complied with all relevant regulations.

The decision to dismiss was made under Texas Rule of Civil Procedure 162, which allows plaintiffs to end a lawsuit without court order before the case is submitted to the judge or jury.

Gregory Potts, Lottery.com COO, stated: “We believe the decision to seek a voluntary dismissal speaks to the lack of any evidence that Lottery.com was engaged in any wrongdoing. We have fully cooperated with all investigations into the April 2023 Lotto Texas drawing and to my knowledge, there has been no finding against the Company of any of the activities claimed in this lawsuit.”

Good to know: Potts added that continuing to defend the case would have diverted resources from the company’s focus on growth and investor value

The development comes as Lottery.com continues its wider relaunch efforts, following an $18m investment secured in late 2023. As part of a major brand activation campaign, the company recently sponsored two drivers – Callum Ilott and Louis Foster – at the 2025 Indianapolis 500, through its Lottery.com and Sports.com platforms.
