Rank Group surpasses annual fundraising target, raises £400,000 for Carers Trust

Key points:

– The Rank Group raised more than £400k for Carers Trust since July 2024

– More than 15,000 carers have been helped by Rank since 2014

– Rank employees also got the chance to sit on grants panels to see how the charity operates

The Rank Group has raised more than £400,000 ($536,193) for Carers Trust, exceeding its £351,000 goal for the period between July 2024 and June 2025.

Grosvenor Casino and Mecca Bingo raised the funds through a variety of efforts, including staff taking part in London and Chester marathons, walking and cycling events, tough mudders and head-shaving initiatives.

The money will be distributed across around 130 local carer organisations that support unpaid carers and will go towards respite breaks and grants to buy essential household items.

Rank employees also volunteered to wrap Christmas presents in December to give to people who are part of the Carers Trust network.

Mark Harper, Grosvenor Managing Director, said: “Being able to sit on the Carers Trust Grant panel was an opportunity that was both humbling and at the same time life-affirming.

“It brought home the challenges that many people face when caring for loved ones, yet at the same time the selfless way in which they approach this.

“I am grateful to have been able to help in some small way, but moreover, take great pride in the work that our teams and customers do in supporting this great charity.”

Good to know: Rank has raised more than £4m for Carers Trust since the partnership began in 2014

Kirsty McHugh, Carers Trust CEO, said: “We’re delighted that Rank’s staff and customers have raised an incredible £400,000 for carers.

“This generous support has been a lifeline for thousands of people across the country who care for family and friends, often at the expense of their own wellbeing and finances.

“ As more and more of us take on caring responsibilities, this help is more important than ever. We couldn’t be more grateful for Rank’s unwavering support and commitment to Carers Trust’s goal of making life better for carers everywhere.”

It’s not just the charitable arm of the company that’s doing well either, as The Rank Group expects £63m in operating profit after FY2025 revenue rises by 11%.
