Christian Polsäter steps down as LeoVegas Director of Sports
Polsäter is set to move on after eight years as the latest executive departure for the operator.
Key points:
– Polsäter has stepped down from his position as LeoVegas Director of Sports
– He originally joined the operator eight years ago and spent over four years as a director
– His departure follows numerous significant changeovers at the company
LeoVegas’ Director of Sports Christian Polsäter will be stepping down from his position at the operator after eight years with the operator.
Polsäter initially joined LeoVegas in 2017 as Sports Manager for the Swedish market, before moving on a year later to become Head of Sportsbook – a role he would later expand across the whole group. Now, following four-and-a-half years as Director of Sports, Polsäter has stated he is set to move on to a “new challenge,” the details of which remain unspecified.
Commenting on his departure via LinkedIn, Polsäter said: “Now, it’s time for me to say goodbye to an amazing company. I’ve loved (almost) every second of the ride and am incredibly grateful for everything I’ve learned along the way. Too many people to thank individually, but a special shout-out to my managers, closest team members, and all the other talented and passionate colleagues across all offices who made this such a memorable time.
Good to know: Polsäter’s resignation closely follows the departures of CCO Chris Welch and Co-Founder & CEO Gustaf Hagman – who spoke to Gambling Insider exclusively on the news
“LeoVegas has been a fantastic place to grow, and I’m proud to have been part of the Sportsbook team through some exciting times. As the company enters a new chapter with its own proprietary sportsbook, I’m confident it’s in great hands. I wish all my former colleagues at Leo the very best, both professionally and personally. I’m leaving with unforgettable memories and friendships I’ll always value.”
Now, in the wake of the company’s takeover by MGM Resorts in 2022 – it would seem a period of executive changeover is well-and-truly underway.
Elsewhere, the operator announced this month the launch of a new proprietary sportsbook in the Danish market – a further indication of shifting tides pertaining to the company’s focus. Indeed, Gambling Insider took a deep dive into the subject as part of a recent GI Friday.
