As reported by The Nation, Thai police have arrested a man believed to be a key figure in an online gambling operation and seized assets valued at THB 56m ($1.5m) during a raid in Pathum Thani.
The Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB), under the direction of Pol Col Adichart Amornpradit, conducted the early morning raid on a luxury residence in the Klong Nueng area of Klong Luang district. The operation was carried out based on a search warrant from the Pathum Thani court and an arrest warrant issued by the Khon Kaen court earlier in the week.
The target of the raid was 30-year-old Taweesak, who police allege was responsible for managing withdrawals and benefiting financially from the gambling ring’s activities. Authorities claim the residence served as a central base for the website Auto888vip, which reportedly had around 3,000 monthly users and handled roughly THB 100m annually.
Good to know: Among the confiscated assets were two luxury vehicles valued at THB 15m, a house worth THB 7m and THB 28m in cash
The CCIB stated that the site operated from December 2024 to May 2025. Investigators are now pursuing other individuals believed to be part of the syndicate and have pledged to continue dismantling the network.
Thailand’s law enforcement has intensified efforts to crack down on illegal online betting operations, which continue to thrive despite repeated enforcement actions.
