Social Responsibility of the Year 2025

EveryMatrix - Since the outbreak of the conflict in Ukraine, EveryMatrix has donated €2m+ to support its 300+ Ukrainian colleagues and their families, paying for housing and welfare needs plus charities that support the wider community. In 2024 the company launched ‘Academy For Heroes’, its second self-funded NGO, aimed at helping war veterans transition to develop new careers in tech. The Academy organises courses designed by IT experts enabling ex-military personnel to gain knowledge and skills needed for successful IT careers.

Betsson Group – Betsson Group’s commitment to CSR, ESG, and RG has been exemplified by its proactive approach to responsible gambling, with over 300,000 real-time player notifications issued in the past 12 months. The company achieved an AAA ESG rating from Morgan Stanley Capital International, enhanced KYC processes, and supported numerous global initiatives, including humanitarian aid for Ukraine and local community projects. Its comprehensive Social Impact Framework drives long-term positive change in the communities it serves.

BGaming – BGaming is committed to socially responsible activities, focusing on community support through art. A year ago, BGaming launched the “When Art Meets Gaming” project, collaborating with local artists at major industry exhibitions to bring creativity and colour while providing financial support to these artists. BGaming’s recent donations of €30,000 in São Paulo, Warsaw, and Lisbon in 2024 funded children’s street art workshops, renovated educational spaces, developed a chess school, and supported youth education programs. These efforts reflect the company’s commitment to social responsibility and positive impact on local communities.

Aristocrat – Aristocrat’s social responsibility pillars encompass product responsibility, business operations, and people & community with the company being successful in each. There have been 20 million consumer impressions of Aristocrat’s Know Your Max positive play campaign, as well as  5.6 million impressions of in-game RG messages in social casino. 40% of Aristocrat’s suppliers are committed to SBTi or have emission-reduction targets. In addition, Aristocrat is 1st among 32 industry participants in the All-In Diversity survey.

Playtech – One of the most significant contributions Playtech has made to the industry and to society, is the provision of technology to advance player protection. Through its RG technology solutions, Playtech helps operators and the industry create a safer gambling experience. BetBuddy, Playtech’s AI-driven responsible gambling tool, set new standards in 2024. Innovations include real-time risk assessment and RG interaction tracking. The ‘A Safe Bet’ project, in partnership with Dutch universities, developed evidence-based RG tools. BetBuddy has shifted from one-size-fits-all limits to individual behaviour assessment, shaping a safer, personalised gambling landscape in 20+ jurisdictions.

Mindway AI – Mindway AI is an innovator in the field of safer gambling solutions. The company saw substantial growth in a short period. In 2024, Mindway AI’s software ran in 61 jurisdictions and 7.7 million Active Players were detected monthly by GameScanner – the solution, which enables operators to intervene at an early stage and prevent at-risk gambling behaviour from escalating. Mindway AI partnered with a variety of operators globally including Betr, Entain, Evoke, NCPG, Interwetten, VBet and more.

Novibet – Novibet’s Giant Heart CSR programme celebrated 3 years of operation in 2024. The programme takes action to create more opportunities for the youth through sports, to support local societies and vulnerable populations and to protect stray animals. With NBA star Giannis Antetokounmpo as its first ambassador (2021-2023), and football players Kostas Tsimikas and Giannis Konstantelias as its current ambassadors, the program offers generous support to organisations and local communities. Highlights include: 50+ CSR initiatives, 15 courts renovated across 10 cities in Greece.

Kaizen Gaming – Kaizen Gaming’s global CSR strategy involves implementing long-term social impact projects in collaboration with NGOs, institutions and the public sector. Moreover, the company undertakes activities in collaboration with its sponsored teams and leagues worldwide to address critical social issues. February 2024 marked the launch of the Kaizen Foundation, which will support non-profits and communities in every country Kaizen Gaming operates in, starting from Greece, Malta, Romania, Portugal and Bulgaria. Its first project is the extensive €3.8m renovation of Penteli Children’s General Hospital in Athens, Greece. 

Paf – In May 2024, Nordic operator Paf changed the loss limit cap for 20-24-year-olds from €10,000 to €8,000 in an aim to protect younger adults who are new to financial independence. This measure is part of a broader array of initiatives the company undertakes to promote responsible gaming, including monitoring player behaviour, providing self-help tools and facilitating access to support services. When Paf introduced the loss limit cap for all players in 2018, it also began publishing how the profits and losses look for different customer segments and has continued to do so annually in its reports. Since 2018, Paf has lowered the mandatory loss limits for all age groups several times.

Flutter Entertainment – As part of Flutter’s Play Well strategy, the company aims to have 75% of active online customers globally using one or more Play Well tools by 2030, with over 50% using one or more tools by 2026. In 2023, the operator increased its global RG investment to $101m, spent on frontline safer gambling specialists, technology, tools, along with marketing Play Well to customers. In addition to RG, Flutter is also committed to bringing positive change to its communities. In the past 12 months, Flutter UKI gave grassroots sports clubs and charities a vital £400k lifeline by launching its flagship Cash4Clubs programme for 2024. Moreover, Sky Bet’s Building Foundations Fund granted £600k to community schemes.
