GTECH unveil new chief technology officer

Providers GTECH Corporation have appointed Matthew Whalen as their new chief technology officer.

Promoted from senior vice president of global technology solutions, Whalen will be responsible for the Lottomatica subsidiary’s overall technology strategy.

Having joined the company in 1994 he has worked his way up through the ranks, holding roles including vice president of international technology solutions and vice president of research and development.

Whalen said: “I am pleased to be able to lead GTECH’s technology organisation at a pivotal time in the lottery industry.

“As our lottery customers’ products become more ubiquitous, we will offer the industry’s best technological solutions to meet the demands of players in today’s changing technology environment.”
