Former 888 CEO retires from board

John

Anderson, independent non-executive director and former CEO of operator 888 Holdings, has retired from the board.

Anderson’s retirement is effective from the conclusion of 888’s annual general meeting, which took place on Wednesday.

Having worked for the company for 14 years, Anderson served as 888 CEO between 2000 and 2006 and previously worked as a director for fellow operator Ladbrokes.

The news of Anderson’s departure was announced along with confirmation that Brian Mattingley has stepped down from his position as CEO to become executive chairman of the board, and Richard Kilsby has retired from the role of non-executive chairman, as part of a management reshuffle that was announced in August.

Mattingley said in a press release: "On behalf of the entire 888 team across the world I would like to express my sincerest gratitude to Richard and to John for their considerable contributions to 888 over many years. We wish them every success for the future."

COO Itai Freiberger will lead operations on a day-to-day basis alongside CFO Aviad Kobrine.
