ICE London planning to go ahead as scheduled in February

ICE London, considered by many to be the biggest gaming tradeshow in the world, is scheduled to go ahead as planned in early February.

TradeShow

Clarion Gaming, the event's organiser, has announced a press briefing for Friday 17 December – but Gambling Insider understands this is to reassure industry stakeholders that the original dates of 1-3 February 2022 are still scheduled to go ahead.

Alex Pratt, Clarion Gaming Group Managing Director, told Gambling Insider: “We will always do what is right for the industry and deliver the event our customers want including both the operators and suppliers. Currently ICE is going ahead.

"However we are monitoring the situation 24/7 and will respond if we need to.”

Rumours have circulated that ICE London could be postponed to spring at the request of the AGEM (Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers).

Worries regarding the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 have prompted companies to suggest ICE London should be postponed once again.

Following two delays last year, the in-person event was actually cancelled for 2021, given the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Naturally, given the fact there has been no rendition of one of the biggest shows on the calendar, and certainly the biggest for online gaming firms, there is an eagerness from both organiser Clarion and the industry to go ahead with the event.

Should further regulations make this an impossibility, Clarion will no doubt review its stance.

At this point, however, ICE London is expected to go ahead as planned in early February.
