Shannon Nadeau will serve as Sightline’s new Director of Regulatory and Licensing Compliance, while Larry Whelan has been named Director of Risk.
In her new role, Nadeau will navigate regulatory and licensing concerns as Sightline expands into new markets, as well as working to advance its responsible gaming initiatives.
She most recently served as Wynn Resorts’ Executive Director of Global Compliance, but her gaming career began almost two decades ago with the Nevada Gaming Control Board (NGCB). Nadeau has also served in compliance roles with IGT and Shuffle Master.
“As digital payment options become more prevalent in US casinos, we must ensure regulators understand how payments fit within the broader gaming industry,” said Nadeau.
“I’m excited to join the Sightline team and their expanding team of experts from across the gaming and payments industries.”
Whelan, meanwhile, will oversee the company’s risk management division, anti-money laundering efforts and fraud prevention activities.
He will monitor transactions made across Sightline’s more than 1.5 million cardholders, and oversee its Risk team.
Whelan’s gaming career spans nearly 30 years, during which time he has held leadership roles at Wynn Resorts, Penn National Gaming, Station Casinos, Caesars Entertainment and MGM Resorts International, having most recently served as VP of Compliance for Interblock Gaming.
Commenting on his appointment, Whelan said: “I’ve seen first-hand how Sightline’s innovations have modernised payments within the gaming industry, and I’m thrilled to play an integral role in helping the company grow.
“I now enjoy a 360-degree view of risk and anti-money laundering in gaming, from the operator through the platform to the supplier.”
