Wholly owned by Penn National Gaming, theScore is a digital media and sports betting company that was founded in 2012. Its app, theScore Bet, aims to deliver an immersive mobile sports betting experience and is currently available in New Jersey, Colorado, Indiana and Iowa.
On 4 April, sports betting and the iGaming market are to be made legal for private operators in Ontario, following which theScore Bet will begin accepting wagers.
And to celebrate the launch of Ontario’s regulated market, theScore Bet is hosting an official “Home Opener” launch party for fans over the age of 19 in Toronto on 2, 3 and 4 April.
Available to download anywhere in Canada, users of theScore Bet app must be over 19 years of age and physically located in Ontario to wager.
TheScore Bet is registered with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario as an internet gaming operator, and is set to operate in the province on behalf of and as an agent for iGaming Ontario. However, this final position is subject to a successful agreement with iGaming Ontario.
John Levy, theScore CEO, commented: “Millions of Ontarians already know and love theScore, and we are excited to introduce them to theScore Bet as part of our pre-registration rollout. We are ready and eager for the legal market to open on April 4 and look forward to showcasing our fully integrated media and betting experience.”
This follows the news back in January of theScore Bet being the first prospective private market operator in Ontario to achieve Responsible Gambling Check iGaming Accreditation from the Responsible Gambling Council in Canada.
