888 changing rewards programme, ditching rakeback

ne poker giant 888poker is set to change its loyalty programme from a traditional rakeback model to a revamped system based on tokens, challenges and level progression.

The new service, called 888poker Club, is set to launch on 28 March. The remodelled programme will feature daily free tournaments which offer a chance to win $100,000 a month. Players will also receive scratch cards for every five levels they climb.

Level progress is based on achieving targets. Players can also receive tokens which can be exchanged for prizes as they reach required points.

Despite changes in the reward system, 888 has vowed to keep current cashback commitments. This existing system allows players to earn cash back based on the volume of play.

“We'd like to assure you that despite these major changes, 888poker will fully honour its cashback commitment to all players, including its VIPs, who are currently entitled to yearly cash back in the existing rewards plan,” 888poker said.

“Moreover, any reward points players accumulated in the current rewards programme will be automatically transferred to Gold Tokens, with equal value, in the new 888poker Club and will continue to be redeemable any time.

“The cashback available in our current rewards programme will likely not correspond to that offered in the new 888poker Club.”
