Kindred Group has reported that its share of revenue from harmful gaming fell to 3.0% in the first quarter of 2023.

After an intervention by Kindred's customer service and responsible gambling teams during the quarter, 83% of detected customers reported better gambling behaviour.

Effects of automated technological solutions, such as identifying and interacting with clients who are at risk through automated interventions, exhibited favourable results.

In Q4 2022, high-risk players made up 3.3% of gross winnings revenue, and the improved effect following interventions was 82.1%. The figures for Q3 were 3.8% and 82.6%, respectively.

Henrik Tjärnström, CEO of Kindred Group, said: "To prevent harmful behaviour, early intervention is critical, and I am glad that we can see the result of the rollout of automated interventions that we have done in some of our markets.

"I look forward to following the holistic approach and collaboration across different teams within Kindred. Responsible gambling is not a factor only for one team, but it is something that every single employee contributes to through their knowledge and commitment to reducing harmful revenue.

“By our tech teams working hand in hand with the responsible gambling and customer-facing teams, we can swiftly release improved interventions across different markets."

Meanwhile, Kindred recently opened its retail store at the Swinomish Casino & Lodge in Washington.

A six-year agreement with the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community was announced in October 2022.
