Thomas Schoen has been appointed President of Wynn Al Marjan Island, the integrated resort expected to open in 2027 in Ras Al Khaimah.

Craig Billings, CEO of Wynn Resorts, said: "Wynn Al Marjan Island is an exciting project for Wynn Resorts.

"We're delighted to welcome Thomas to lead our operating team at this new venture.

“In his role, he will lead the delivery of the exceptional Wynn guest service for which we are so well known.”

Schoen will oversee all operational aspects of Wynn Al Marjan Island, building off his most recent role at Pine Cliffs Resort as Complex General Manager where he oversaw the construction and renovations of the project.

With over 30 years of global luxury hospitality experience, Schoen has been responsible for six hotel brands across 11 countries.

Billings continued: “Thomas' passion for hospitality and extensive experience will be an important part of the success of Wynn Al Marjan Island."

Previous roles of Schoen include CEO UIP Hospitality for Marriott International, both Area Manager Egypt and Area Manager Poland for Starwood Hotels & Resorts.

On his appointment, Shoen said: "I am delighted to lead the operations of Wynn Al Marjan Island and feel privileged to be part of such a significant new chapter for the group.

“The iconic destination will not only mark a new one-of-a-kind guest experience in the Emirates but will further establish the brand across the globe.

“I look forward to embarking on this exciting journey."

Wynn recently unveiled the full plans of its Al Marjan Island, including details on the number of hotel rooms and the kind of amenities to expect in the resort.
