Dreamscape announces Rio Hotel & Casino's new team

The property was purchased by Dreamscape in 2019 from Caesars Entertainment.

The new leadership team at the Rio Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has been announced by Dreamscape Companies.

Dreamscape's new leadership team will be responsible for managing the redevelopment, operation, financial, marketing, gaming and entertainment aspects of the hotel and casino. They will take over operations this October. 

Eric Birnbaum, Dreamscape Founder, said: “We are thrilled to have this talented team on board as they help us restore the Rio Hotel & Casino into a premier destination once again, positioning the property as the go-to place for locals and tourists alike.”

The new team consists of Trevor Scherrer, Janice Fitzpatrick, Tom Evans, Kevin Sweet and Don Purdue.

Scherrer, President of Gaming and Entertainment, has worked in the Las Vegas market for more than three decades in the gaming and hospitality industries. Recently, Scherrer served as a Resort Development advisor on the opening team at Resorts World Las Vegas.

Meanwile, Fitzpatrick, the CFO, has more than 40 years of financial experience in the domestic and international gaming and hospitality sectors. Fitzpatrick will oversee the Rio Hotel and Casino's whole financial operation. Fitzpatrick has previously overseen the finance operations at several renowned hotels.

Evans, who has been appointed as the Chief Marketing Officer, has played a key role in the launch of over 10 hotels and casinos around the nation, including the Bellagio and Aria resorts in Las Vegas in addition to overseeing the pre and post-marketing campaigns for CityCenter.

Sweet, Chief Gaming Officer, has worked in the premium gaming industry for over 15 years. Sweet was previously The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas VP of Slot Operations and Marketing before taking on this role.

Finally, Don Purdue, VP of Construction & Development Services, has worked in property development and construction for 35 years.
