Resorts World Sentosa (RWS) has won Outstanding Employer at the Singapore Tourism Awards 2023.

This comes following RWS' emphasis on the next stage of growth for its expansion plan and as Singapore continues its path of economic recovery after the pandemic.

Lee Shi Ruh, RWS’ Chief People Officer, said: “This award is a mark of recognition for our strategic approach towards inspiring and nurturing our team members as we chart the path towards our next growth phase.

"We have ramped up efforts to address skills scarcity needs and advance skillset transformation for our employees as travel restrictions ease and the tourism industry recovers.”

RWS staff trained for about 300,000 hours in 2022, an increase of more than 50% from 2021.

The integrated resort works closely with business partners including Workforce Singapore and the Singapore Hotel Association, to offer a variety of initiatives for redesigning jobs and programmes for changing careers.

Additionally, RWS has launched the Management Associate Programme (MAP), a two-year programme, to assist motivated individuals in developing their creative thinking and problem-solving skills through training and exposure to a variety of work sectors.

Furthermore, RWS has also planned to hold a hiring event at Resorts World Convention Centre on 24 May 2023 in collaboration with the Employment and Employability Institute.

Genting Singapore recently reported a 54% increase in revenue for the first quarter of 2023.

The financial reports for Genting Singapore contain detailed descriptions of many of the company's future plans for Resorts World Sentosa, one of its major ongoing projects.

Liew Lan Hing, Company Secretary for Genting Singapore, said: “Looking ahead, as we continue with RWS 2.0 strategy, Genting Singapore is committed to enhancing RWS’ brand identity as a premium luxury destination that appeals to trendy and affluent customers."
