Playtech announces new partnership with Svenska Spel

Playtech has announced a new partnership with Svenska Spel Sport and Casino, which will see it expand its presence across Sweden.

This extends a deal between the two companies that started in 2019, making Playtech the exclusive poker partner to Svenska Spel. In other Svenska Spel news, the operator was recently found guilty of violating advertising law in Sweden.

But, here, both parties will be hoping the deal will be mutually beneficial.

Svenska Spel launched Playtech’s Poker product and iPoker network previously after Playtech gained its B2B permit for Sweden. This is part of the company’s plans to monetise and improve on its poker offerings.

Playtech recently released its Q1 results for 2023, showing steady growth in B2B and B2C divisions.

Marat Koss, VP of Interactive Gaming at Playtech, said: “We are delighted to be expanding our very successful partnership with Svenska Spel and increasing our presence across Sweden.

“This is a positive outcome from our investments in poker, as renewed licences such as Svenska Spel are choosing us for further collaboration. We are delighted to welcome Svenksa Spel to the iPoker family”.

Fredrik Hård, Head of Poker & Bingo at Svenska Spel Sport & Casino, said: “Launching Playtech’s poker offering is a great step forward for Svenska Spel. Now part of the international iPoker network, we are constantly finding ways to improve the player experience for our large existing customer base in Sweden.

“This deal is a great proof of the quality of Playtech’s offering and we hope to see this relationship go from strength to strength in the future.”
