Light & Wonder has entered into an agreement with Shift4, a developer of integrated payments and commerce solutions, for the company to assimilate its payment processing technology into Atom.

Atom, or Acces To On Demand Money, was a seamless debit solution introduced to live table games in December 2021.

This allowed players at live casinos to access and withdraw additional funds, without having to leave their table.

Mike McKiski, SVP of Global Gaming, Tables, said: “Atom is unbelievably simple, intuitive and offers a great convenience for players.

“Integrating Shift4’s payment processing capabilities allows us to drive greater value and retention for our customers and a better experience for players.

“These solutions complement each other, and our current product family, enabling us to deliver a truly differentiated offering.”

The Shift4 payment ecosystem will initially be introduced into domestic jurisdictions and Canada, but both companies expect the solution to expand across more sites in the future.

Anthony Perez, Shift4’s SVP of New Verticals, said: “Shift4 is transforming commerce across various industries with a simplified payment experience that seamlessly integrates into leading technology solutions.

“Light & Wonder is a leader in cashless solutions for casinos, and Shift4 is excited to enhance the player experience for its customers.

“We are quickly growing our presence in the gaming space with our ability to deliver both card-present and card-not-present solutions, and this agreement further enhances our capabilities for our casino customers.”

Across the pond, Light & Wonder has just signed a deal with Grand Casino Luzern.
